MealAdvice Privacy Policy

MealAdvice is a mobile coach that supports healthy living through small habits. This page explains what data we process and why, where it is kept, and your rights. It follows the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK.
1. Controller
The developer of the MealAdvice app. Contact: via the "Me" tab in the app or the support address on the store page.
2. What we process
- Account: your Firebase identifier; your email if you signed in with Google or Apple. Anonymous use has no email.
- Profile: your routine choices (where meals come from, who cooks, weekend pattern), what you struggle with, activity level, notification times, language and time zone.
- Optional body measures: height, weight, birth year, sex. Processed only if you enter them; derived figures such as BMI and a rough energy estimate are hidden by default.
- Habit records: your daily "Done / Not today" answers and the engine's decisions.
- Coach conversations: what you write to the coach, meal notes and the coach's replies.
- Plate photos: forwarded once to the AI provider for analysis and never stored anywhere; only balance shares and a coarse band are kept.
- Weigh-ins and weekly letters.
- Technical records: cost and error logs of AI calls (counts and types, not content).
No location, contacts, advertising identifiers or device health data (steps) are collected. There is no advertising or tracking technology.
3. Why (legal basis)
- What the service needs to work (account, profile, habit records): performance of the contract.
- Body measures and photos: your explicit consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
- Cost and error records: legitimate interest (keeping the service running).
4. Use of AI
Coach texts are produced with Anthropic's Claude models. The model receives only your profile codes and the content you write; your name, email and identity never go to it. The model does not write recipes or make decisions; it selects and explains. Every output is checked on our server. Data is not used for model training (per the provider agreement).
5. Retention
- Anonymous accounts unused for 90 days are deleted with all their data.
- Linked accounts are kept until you delete them.
- Conversations with the coach and meal notes are deleted automatically after 180 days; you can delete them all from the app at any time.
- Plate photos are not stored.
- When you delete your account, all data is removed immediately and permanently (from backups within 30 days at most).
6. Sharing
Data is never sold. It is shared only with the infrastructure providers that run the service, under contract: Firebase (Google) for authentication, Anthropic for AI processing, the hosting provider. No other transfers except where the law requires.
7. Your rights
You have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, portability and objection. In the app you can edit your profile, delete body measures and remove everything with "Delete account". For other requests write to the contact address; we answer within 30 days.
8. Children
MealAdvice is not designed for people under 16.
9. Changes
If this text changes, the app announces it and the date on this page is updated.
